Mission:Impossible

I have an impossible mission: I want to sell 25,000 copies of Moonlit Daydreams. (Physical, eBook or Kindle)
I also have a reason: I want to help my community.
My community has struggled for years over the loss of our mills and while progress is coming, it is coming slow. I want to be able to open a store in downtown Kannapolis, NC and help bring life back to that area.
If I can sell 25,000 books by the end of August 2010 (It takes a while for my physical counts from amazon to come in) I will use some of the proceeds to open a store here. The store will carry mainly handcrafted or indie products and will not carry items that are carried through major retail outlets. I hope to get the majority of these products from locals.I want to offer high quality, affordable and unique clothing, jewelery, books, and gifts to my neighbors. I want to bring life to a dead area of town.
If I can sell 50,000 copies of my book by August 2010 I will do something even more amazing for my town. I will invest 5% of proceeds into savings accounts to create scholarships for working students not receiving other aid. Even at the lowest profits from eBook sales this would allow me to give one student a free year of school at the local community college.
Moonlit Daydreams retails for $11.99 on both LULU and Amazon.com. If you click on the buy Amazon link there is an option for Kindle or physical book. The Kindle copy is only $.99. Don't have a kindle? Regular eBooks are available on Smashwords.com for $.99
If you have already bought a copy you can still help! Spread the word, leave us a good review on amazon and tell your friends and family. Send out a tweet, update your Myspace and Facebook status or just buy a mousepad from the store. This is not about personal profits. I self published a book that I wanted to write because I enjoyed writing it. I would never say that profits are bad or unwelcome here but all I want is a chance to use those profits to enliven a dying community.
You can see an article I wrote way back in 2007 about the prospects that are now slow coming to Kannapolis on associated content by clicking here.
